Is it still cheaper to build your own computer or buy prebuilt? I am starting to hear on various different places that buying pre built is now the cheaper way to go. I really don't know now

An HP running Windows 7, with a Quad Core AMD, 1tb hard drive, 8GB ram, keyboard, mouse, widescreen LCD, and Printer - all of which equal $500. Fairly cheap, though the case, PSU, and Graphics card must be upgraded to satisfy my taste.

You get crap if you buy prebuilts. Building it is by far the best way to go.

That used to be somewhat true, but not so much anymore. Dell, HP and all those companies have some pretty competitive computer lineups that make it an easy decision for consumers who don't either know how to put together a computer or just don't care about building one.

You don't need to know.

Just post constructive comments, contribute and it'll all come together.
