It pops reall loudly when I turn the volume knob also. The computer seems to be working okay, I can navigate the menus and such.

check the High/Low freq circuits if u can, and to make sure your speakers arent Fd up

Now I can hear the FM tuner faintly, among a lot of horrible popping and static. All other inputs are just buzz.

sounds like the amplifier section after the RF/inputs is malfunctioning.

It always had issues with highs. Idk it did pretty well considering that we got it ten years ago. At least we got a new onkyo before it blew.

I just wish I hadn't given my RCA pos receiver away now so I could have something to listen to LPs. I'm stuck with an iPod/CD stereo now.
