first build, need help

If you would like to switch to an AMD build, you can get a lot more Performance for your money, possibly even more.

Just look at the pcb. It is significantly different. The most obvious change is the missing second crossfire plug.

i have the XFX Radeon 5770 video card and so far it has been a good one.

You most likely hav a reference one. XFX changes the pcb on some batches, but not others. It is quite frustrating keeping up.

Edit: it seems that quite a few manufacturers are following XFX's lead, I just noticed that HIS is doing it too. Op, go with this card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102864&cm_re=Hd_5770-_-14-102-864-_-Product

Thanks for you input. I think i will be getting that http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182032. I know this is probably a really stupid question but how exactly do you figure out how much watts your system needs?
I generally go by the video card power supply requirements to be on the safe side. With the prices the way they are, you can get good quality, high powered power supplies for around the same price as the lower rated ones.

You can also use "power supply calculators" to give you a general idea of what you may need. Here's one of the better ones: eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Lite v2.5
