I'm looking to spend around $1200, i just got out of high school and need a computer. I'm going to be using it mostly for games and picture/video editing. This is my first computer and i believe i can save a lot of money buy just building one instead of buying. Here is what i was thinking.

I know for sure i want the i7 920 and Antec case after that it doesn't matter

for a little more money you can get the Intel i7 930, which is a good processor. I heard it is the same chip as the 920 but clocked a little more. I have the 930 a so far im amazed how fast it is. But it does cost $299, dont know if that is out of your budget or not. Beside no Intels are cheap, and you get what you pay for, (for the most part) there are sometimes you luck up a buy something cheap and it turns out to be a real good product. The 930 is a great processor for word processing and gaming!!!

Thanks ill look into it. I read so many reviews on how good the 920 was i really forgot to look at the others. From the looks on newegg its only an $9 dollar difference.

Anandtech - XFX's Radeon HD 5770, A Look At The 5770 Revision 2 Cooler

We should note that while the cooler has changed, the PCB has not. The PCB on this card is exactly identical to the PCB on our 5770 reference card. In fact the only difference besides the cooler is the use of Samsung GDDR5 rather than Hynix GDDR5. In benchmarks there is absolutely no difference in performance between our Rev 2 card and our original reference card. So the only practical difference is the cooler.
