I have 4 RAM slots in my computer. I just installed 2 new sticks of RAM they are DDR2 2G G Skill RAM x2 so right now I have 4G in my computer. But if I install my old ram also. which is a total of 2G will that give me 6G or does it not work that way?

Yes, if you install the older RAM along with the new RAM, you will have a total of 6GB.

wow! really??!!? so my computer can go even faster? I didnt think it worked that way. I thought RAM was like linked and if you had 2 different kinds it would interfer with it and screw it up. no?

Well, it's best if all the memory modules have the same specs. But if you mix slower RAM with faster RAM, they will all run at the slower memory's speed.
