I'm going to buy a CPU...

Well, the time has come. My system is a Gateway 4015h with a AMD Athlon 3500+ CPU at 2.2 GHz. Single core. Socket 939. Got Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and things are barely scraping by. Now, just have to find something that meets my $120 budget. Preferably less. With 2 cores or higher; (though I think there are only dual-core models for this socket) cores at 2.0 GHz or above. Shoot me something, sometimes I will go crazy and buy it, even out of my budget.
Give me recommendations.

You have a s939 gateway... No decent CPU will run in that mobo.

I suggest an Athlon II and a new AM3 mobo/DDR3 kit.

This mobo is strange. It is flipped so that the case door is on the right side. Do you think they make a compatible replacement?
And I think I read about a processor for my computer that had 3 GHz cores.
