New build

build is for a friend

from the ratings the psu looks just fine. But the one posted ^ seems to come with a great combo with some ddr3 ram. Thanks.

Im thinking more of x6 because both are apprx. the same price and almost the same performace.

In the future the additional two cores may be handy. And its just kick ass to say you have an x6.

Going specifically amd because amd motherboards are cheaper and the am2/am3 compatibility allows for future upgrade on cpu if needed.

If the i5 is SIGNIFICANTLY more impressive in gaming (mostly SC II and other modern games), I might reconsider.

any more suggestions?

Marshillboy is correct. An Intel Core i5 is faster than the Phenom 1055T in most gaming benchmarks. Even the Phenom X4 965 beats the 1055T quite easily.

Other than that, the build looks good.

then a question:

if this build is meant to be $800-$1000 and used for web browsing and heavy gaming and to last for 5-10 years of intensive to general use, would you buy the 1090t, the phenom 965, the 1055t, or and i5.

Most importantly, what will give you best long term performance for investment.

If there is nothing else wrong, most likely other parts will be purchased.

Any more suggestions?

my friend has about an extra $100 to upgrade

should he get a new gpu from 5770 to 58xx

or a new cpu from 1055t to the 1090t

or are neither worth the extra $100
