well, my case and PSU have been sitting around for a while now, time to get the next bit i think. kinda sick of seeing them laying around doing sweet nuttin'

got about £90/$130 (i think, not good with converters) to spend. pretty simple needs, PCI-E for grapics obviously, not sure the exact type though, maybe someone here knows, ATI 5770 compatible?

prefer DDR3 for a bit of perhaps what you may call 'future proofing' ? and socket AM3 for phenom quad

fire away chaps.


also, PSU is 570W and the case supports mATX and ATX form factors

both look pretty good to me, but im a newbie to building (first build that im actually going to use...only practised on old bits of computers...)

which do you think would be better for my situation?

Probably the Asus board. They are known to be good performers and overclock well.
