mobo power question

Hey guys, i have a ASUS P6X58D-E mobo and have a question about the top 12v power port. the connector is a 8 pin connector but then ASUS has put a four pin cover or plug over half of the connector. so my question is, is it a four pin power connector i need or the eight pin?

Use all 8 pins. The cover is there in case you only have 4 pins on your psu.
