I'm sure you could put it on the outside of the case. I'm not sure why you would want to though. I can't imagine that it would look very nice.

I googled it and it functions as a sound-proofing material. Ya know, to keep your computer quiet?
I think he's asking if he could put the material on the outside of the case and if it would still function.
I don't see why it wouldn't, as it still holds in sound, BUT I'm not sure.

I don't think it would be as effective. The sound would get to the metal case first, and that would make it harder to contain.

Yeah I would think so too, as the metal case would rattle.
It would work, just not as effectively.
