hardrive is was bad now its fine.

hey guys.. sence its springtime here and getting warmer i swapped everything into a bigger case.. and then i was having the computer lockup and hardrive pause problems again. than i moved some stuff around again, and now its working ok again. yet it was never getting warm. is it possible. there is just a bad connection in the ide plug? or is it likely a bad component on the hardrive-board? or worse?

It was making clicking noises. If a harddrive makes noises, it's 99.99999% of the time dying. It's on its way out, just forget it. There really isn't anything you can do to save it.

Back it up and replace it. Better to deal with it while it's still alive, rather than when you just saved something important that you didn't back up.

well i backed the drive up.. put it in another tower.. its been running fine for 5 months now..
strange.. no clicks or sounds anymore.. could it be a bad IDE cable?
