I built a computer for my family in Europe, however they didn't change the voltage setting in the back. They plugged it in and turned it on. I was told it sparked (assuming from the power supply) and is now not turning on.

I told them the computer is most likely fried.

Is there anyway the power supply it self is fried and not the entire computer?

Anyone with any experience with this?

It's likely that nothing else but the PSU is damaged.

Pop in a new PSU and see if the machine fires up.

You'll really never know until you replace the power supply and try to turn it on.

They're lucky it didn't catch on fire, seriously.
