New rig for about $500

I'll be gaming at 1680 X 1050. Currently I only play CS so theres no issue there, but I bought NBA 2k10 because I'm an avid sports fan, but I only get like 20 FPS on that game with mid to high settings. I won't even attempt to get GTA 4 until I know I have something that'll run it.

Well, in that case, a 512MB HD 5750 will be plenty for you. It beats the 5670 by a good bit too.

You would see some benifit from a 1GB framebuffer on some more intense games that have tons of objects though, so if you can afford it, get this one.

It's faster too, but only get it if you have the money.

ATI destroys nVIDIA right now. nVIDIA has no lower end DX11 cards, so you would be paying more for a last-generation DX10 card.

newegg is cheaper than tigerdirect. That is why we use it.

Get this card for $10 more. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161317&cm_re=5770-_-14-161-317-_-Product

Get this board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131402&cm_re=790X-_-13-131-402-_-Product

And this RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...0220435&cm_re=ddr3_4gb-_-20-220-435-_-Product

I know it goes over budget a little, but it's really worth the money. If you cannot spare the extra, then you can always get that 512MB 5750, though that takes a big chunk of your performance with it, or you could get 2GB of DDR3, but that really is not nough anymore.

this is the build I have if I keep my current case, HDD and CD/DVD drive:

and they throw an HDMI cable in free lol

so 6 items totaling $568.93.

Also I should be able to put Windows 7 on here correct? I try puting it on my current computer and I ran the tests to make sure its compatible and it says everything is but I believe my BIOS is the problem because I kept getting BSOD errors relating to hardware. I cannot flash it because I don't have a floppy drive. I'm stuck with XP now and that is another reason I am upgrading.

The Phenom II will come with its own cooler, you do not need to buy one.

Also, whatever AM2+ cooler you have will be compatible with AM3, so you can recycle it.

Is that too expensive for you though? I could find some cheaper parts if you need.

No this is actually perfect, less than in the middle of my $500 to $700 range so thank you very much for your help. Hopefully I will be able to sell the parts from this PC also and all will be well.
