Might be a licensing thing - some e-commerce software will only let you purchase a license up to a certain order value...

It might be ridiculous at the moment, but in my mind just the fact drives of this capacity are available in SSD format is a huge step forward. Everything will start off this expensive, hopefully in the near future we can expect prices to start plummeting.
 
I'd rather buy a couple 1tb or 2tb regular hard drives for storage and buy a smaller *slightly* cheaper SSD as my main drive for the OS and programs.
