How do you read your processor clock speed?

how do you raise the clockspeed on a hp dv6000 laptop with a intel centrio duo processor, the computer came with vista and the hard drive crashed so i put in a 500gb hard drive and loaded windows seven. Now it is a little slow cause the processor is only running 1.80ghz. thanks for any info!!

No can do on that lappy. The functions in the BIOS you need will be locked out.

yeah i looked in bios and didnt see where i could, but thought that there might be another way. Dang that sucks.

You might get software that will do it in the OS but even then a lappy's cooling isn't the best and it could overheat quickly.

W7 needs lots of RAM to run. So it will help to install 2GB RAM, 2X 1GB sticks. It will help a lot. At the moment your running half a GB RAM.

It has 2gb of RAM in it, the computer is starting to run faster now, does the computer have to relearn all of the components? Its kind of weird that two days ago it was very slow and now its a whole lot faster.
