USA & UK PC's working in AUS

Thinking of getting one of the new Sony L-series all-in-one pc's. However looking at sony.com & sony.co.uk there are better spec'd models (VPCL117FX/B USA & VPCL12S1E/S UK) for nearly $1000 less. Spoke to a (miserable) guy at Sony who said a lot of functions wouldn't work, such as TV tuner (uses diff Freq in USA & UK & NTSC in USA), screen frequency is 60Hz and 50 Hz in Aus. Thought I could just replace TVtuner with Aus model and all would be good, but the guy says no wouldn't work.

Being from the UK myself, my laptop worked fine when I brought it with me however it didn't have tv tuner!

Wondered if anyone could offer any advice/suggestions.

Cheers

I Live in australia and you're correct. Simply buy a new TV Tuner that compatible with Australia Broadcast standard you should be fine! Just make sure the Power supply can run on 240v.

Cheers mate. Both the models from USA & UK run on 240V.

I buy most things these days from across the pond as Australia is soooo much more expensive.
