hey guys,

about 2 months ago i bought a nvidia gtx 260, stock oevrclocked by gigabyte. its been working wonders but after about a month when i checked some programs to see what temperature its been running out they all reported something like 56404c.. what that about?

Thank you for the reply, but this program also reads an insane temperature reading (58373 c!) I guess it must be a hardware problem.

Is there anything damaging that could happen if my gpu runs too hot as the fan varies speed according to temp?

If its running this hot after a few differfent programs I also too guess its a hardware problem, unless you start sweating profusely whenver you go within a 5 mile radius of your computer??

Do you have another card you can swap in and test? or alternatively another computer to test the card?

Looks like the temp sensor is gone. Your 260 would be long gone before you even get near those temps.
