is it any good? I may buy one once there is a second or third gen out and it's cheaper. I just think it will give problems like I find with other first gen apple items. The first gen ipod touch was really picky with what wifi networks it would connect to it would often just say unable to connect to ... and give no additional info. Back when I had a first gen touch it was unable to connect to my home network so the main features were pretty much useless. I just don't want a similar experience with the ipad.

I may consider buying one once it reaches OS 4.0 with multitasking* (might not) and jailbroken. Still a lot of freaking fun to play with but I wouldn't want it unless I can actually get it to do desktop stuff.

They still have them available in the San Francisco store. From what I saw on the news, they tend to smudge quickly and aren't really much more functional than an iPhone.
