I have this CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103678 and this is my motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138140&Tpk=790gx xe

I've read that it's possible to unlock 2 other cores on this CPU totaling 4 overall. From what I understand I have a semi-decent motherboard and I would like to try this. Does anyone know how to do this? And please don't say go and google it because I have and I haven't been able to find a very exact guide and I don't want to go on wild goose chases and wasting my time, I'd like to hear a definative answer from someone here.

Thanks!

If the X2 7850 has disabled cores, you will need to set the ACC function to Auto in the BIOS. You may also need to revert to an older/modded BIOS as some newer ones have had that function disabled under pressure from AMD.

I do have the newest BIOS, I might try flashing to the older one and checking it out. Also, do I need to do any overvolting to gain stability with the extra 2 cores?

Well I tried a couple different BIOSes and a bunch of different ACC settings but no go. But when I go into ACC per core, I get 4 cores (core 0, 1, 2, and 3) so I'm pretty sure I have 2 other cores but I can't get to them. Maybe it's my CPU, some CPUs just dont' like to unlock from what I understand...
