Obviously you have no clue what the word minimum means. It's always better to have to much usable watts than just enough. What happens when he fills up the 450w using up the pieces inside the computer and then goes to plug a external hard drive into the tower that doesn't have its own power source and has to use the pc to power it or a lot of other things he can plug into it. Number one rule before posting something on a thread should be think before you type. You just violated rule number one.

I entered everything and it is coming out to 252w. Like I said, just plug it in and you will see what I mean. This was 100% TDP and 100% utilization, and I threw in a couple fans for good measure.

I've never had a problem with my current build and my 550watt. My girlfriend uses a 9800gt 2.7 dual core, 2gb ram with a 400w power supply (I know its low but it hasn't caused one problem)

500w is plenty here.
