I currently have 2 gb or ram, and i can play any of the 10k maps just fine, but anything above that is making my computer super slow, and i wanna be able to play the 81k maps on max settings with a few friends. How much ram do you think i would need? is 4gb enuf? or would i need 8 or more? War ram would u recomend? I was looking at G.SKILL HK 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel

Some of the people on here are going to tell you that you do not need 8GB.
But there is really just a rule of thumb, the more the merrier.
You might not need all 8, but you might someday.

According to:
http://support.crucial.com/upgrade/compatible-memory-for/ASUS/M2N32-SLI+Deluxe/list.html
You can support up to 8GB PC2 6400 and have 4 slots.

I personally would buy two sets of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231209

They are PC2 6400,G. Skill, 2x 2GB(4GB), 4-4-4-12.

EDIT: Also, could you try and type neater? Maybe slowing down might help :)

8GB is just plain overkill on an XP system as the max limit is 4GB. I would suggest just picking up another 2GB set of memory that matches your current pair.

I have 4gb and the most I've ever used is 2.8 GB. That's with two Gimp windows open, Crysis, and iTunes, among various background programs (steam, xfire, and others).

Also, you're video card setup slightly nauseates me. I wouldn't have payed extra for the factory overclock, but to each his own.

sorry, i should have specified that im planing on replacing XP with Win 7.

Also, the video cards were just a tad over $400 so i thought they were pretty cheap considering :/

Ahh. . . Then by all means 6 to 8GB or memory will be fine.

Don't mind GibsonSGKing, he's just jealous. ;)

I'm not jealous at all, I say if you plan on keeping the computer for a while go for it, might as well. I was just providing some input on how much I tend to use, in case the OP was debating between 4-6 or something. Also, I'm on Win7, if it makes a difference.
