problem with speakers

hi!
i have just installed windows 7 and my laptop speakers dont work but if i plug in headphones or other speakers they work fine. i tried to troubleshoot it but it didnt fix it, it just said that there isnt anything pluged in! help please!!

Have you looked through the sound properties to see if the onboard speakers are enabled? Have you installed the proper drivers available at the laptop manufacturer's website?
