Nope, the adapter it comes with is passive. You need active unless your monitor has a displayport input. It'll run you $100 unless you buy a cheap DAC from monoprice.com, but it will make you end up with mismatched colors.

one day im going to just go all out, buy like 6000$ of stuff, make it all crossfired, Raid 0'd, an OCd with some LCs, maybe get 2 antec 1200 cases and weld them together to have room for it all.
