I don't play games just Video Processing. Like Raw files with Photoshop and now started Video Processing with my new DSLR that shoots 720 p.

I was thinking about this board

Ram

I have a old tower I can use and I can get another 150g Raptor O/S Hard Drive. If the onboard Videocard dosen't work good with my Dell 24" Monitor I can get a new x 16 Vid Card. Not sure what to get but I can ask.

I guess everyone builds gaming PC's nowdays.
I have a question's anyways.
What happened to all the PCI slots in todays Motherboards?
What is the best AMD CPU nowdays?
How much ram is needed to run Win. 7 ?
Is there anything else I need to know to build a new PC?

Good build. I like the PSU with the price that comes with it.

Only suggestion is this:

You need processing power, and an Athlon X2 won't do it.

Get this for now:

Or if you feel ready, this is a good choice:

Don't need to be a gamer to get the higher end stuff.

You will need a GPU, to help Video processing and editing.

That 5770 should do the job.

No. All Phenom IIs are AM3.

If you ever would happen to have an AM2 CPU, and want an AM3 board, buy one with DDRII slots, as DDRIII will never work on the older chips.

I was just wondering, wouldn't you want a little faster ram for running multiple photo editting programs at once? I know when I edit photos I am constantly switching through adobe programs, but I guess I have a Mac for that.:)

Oh yeah, just noticed but EnterCapsLock you joined exactly one year after me. lol

No, DDRII will not work in DDRIII, but if you happen to have an AM2 board, and want to be ready for AM3, make sure you have both DDRII and DDRIII slots on the motherboard.

Yes I would ....Fan08
ok guys I have a Power Supply the Corsair, I have a CPU the AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz, I found the Board DDRIII.
I need to deceide on fast DDRIII Ram,,, But I don't want to have to upgrade till I can have a PC like on TV. NCIS LA style...lol

I'm going with the MSI 785GM-E65 AM3 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard $63.99. Had to switch to this board because they make a WaterBlock for it and not the other.
Here is a Video Review on the MB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Qpkc9m0940&feature=fvw

Corsair CMPSU-750TX 750-Watt TX Series 80 Plus Certified $110.00

XFX HD-577X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX card $159.00

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor $190.00

Thanks though.
Now I just need some fast RAM DDRIII the board will take DDR3 1333/1066/800 so which to get?

Looks like I'll go with the CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) $115.00
