I guess I could see HDD blocks in applications where your HDD's get really hot, but otherwise they're pretty useless.

They are only used for like the 15k RPM drives typically, except for the n00bs who put them on velociraptors and such.

Ah, hadn't though of that. I'm sure those things generate quite a bit of heat.

Watercooling a Velociraptor lol. I know they get warm, but that's why it's mounted on a heatsink.

The sad part is that most of them are put on velociraptors.
