terabyte drive?

Yeah, my drives have a 32mb cache :p

Other things you have to watch out with drives though are platter amounts. The less platters there are, the less work it'd take for the drive to find something.

I found a 1TB drive that has 2 500GB platters. I'm not sure if there would be ones that have 1 platter yet?

I think my 250GB seagate drives are one platter.

EDIT: Yep they are. 250GB 7200.10's. I bought them because they are so fast... actually faster than a raptor.

I never understood the platter thing. My thinking would be more platters = faster, just like RAID and multi core processors work.

The advantage of a terabyte drive is this:

More storage to put music, movies, whatever pleases you to put in :p

Not much after that. They've gone affordable too.
