Pci

A single slot card would.

9500 GT would be perfect. There are also some 9600, 8800, and 9800 single slot solutions.

EDIT: Here's a good deal on one. http://www.overstock.com/Electronic...d=123620&fp=F&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=12596253

Hehe I like video cards...

i'll look into it

just cut the back of the PCI 1 card (smallest slot next to the 2.0) and put in the X16 2.0 9500 (or w.e one it is) and it would function? even with 70% of the pins on the card not even making connection?

Yep. Those are simply extra rails. You WILL have to put it in the x16 to install the driver, but after that, you are good to go. Its the same as when a mobo will run a card at x4 or x8. It just deactivates some of the rails.

That 8800 I posted will give you an awesome amount of power for very cheap.

you ever done that by chance?

and, what xspeed are the regular long white PCI slots?

I know pretty much nothing about Nvidia cards.

so, that 8800 would still give good performance even in that tiny ass slots?

and, with everything in my sig, suppose 550W is plenty?

I think so. You will have to distribute it well though.

8800 will be fine in that slot for folding and physx. Not for gaming. The long slot? The x16 that your video card goes in?

I haven't done it yet, but I will when I get my psu. I've seen a lot of people successfully do it.

EDIT: Those PCI slots don't have an x# because they are PCI. Slower than x1 though.

no, not the blue 2.0 slot, i mean the other white PCI slots, the long ones, but not the 2.0 ones.

Ya, i am considering going for a new PSU anyways though, going to need one later on down the road when i get a DX11 card, and probably going to get a 5870 or 5970. And use this PSU for a server/HTPC rig. Always recycle your parts ;)

I See

dont you just put a 6pin power cord into my 4850, and 8800, and that would distribute it well? i dont see what there is to distribute..?

NICE

Awesome price too. Consider the cheaper 8800 as incentive to buy it lol.

EDIT: Wait... damn... just realized that one is dual slot... your 4850 will be in the way. :(
