i just bought the HP monitor w2338 hdmi/VGA outputs only

hooked it up and realized my graphics card and or chipset /motherboard will not allow max resolution. You tube works fine, streaming video (Hulu) choppy

Mother board : IntelD845GVFN

2.4 pentium 4
2gb memory
ATI 3D rage Pro PCI

the lady at Frys said I basically have to start over, that there is no way with what I have to achieve 1920 x 1080 60 hz

Is she correct ??

what video card do you have...? also, there are plenty of resolutions that look fine for just regular desktop display, 1920x1080 isn't end all be all when it comes to resolutions, some people even game at <gasp> 1440x900 or less...

Ati 3D rage Pro PCI

isnt that the video card.?

Also the intel 828456/gl/pe/gv graphics controller

Problem is with choppy video ,not everyday Internet surfing

You're video card does not support anything larger than 1280 x1024.
ATI's Press Release from 1996 said:
