Well, one good thing about the "Adjust desktop size and position", I can use the same resolution in games. Just sucks that I can't use 1920x1080. Hopefully nvidia will fix this in the near future.

Have you tried what I linked to?

You could maybe put a custom resolution, but some games won't like that.

The link you provided didn't work. It seems like it's only for the 8800GTS and other cards listed. It doesn't seem like the 8800GT is listed on there.
