Spyware trouble...

My mate has just told me on MSN that she has a pop up that keeps coming up, talking about a potential Trojan.
I said to her that it was probably spyware, and to download Spybot: Search & Destroy, and its found 60 items.

Shes apparently the admin of the computer, with only one account, yet when she tries to wipe the problems; it says she doesn't have full access, and doesn't allow it. Yet, it allowed her to install the program?

I asked her to check in User Accounts, and she is set to admin.

What could that mean?

The malware is blocking it most likely.

Boot into safe mode and run it and malwarebytes.

Be sure to check the administrator tab, not the normal user account.

I had to do this on my brother's computer except it found more like 400 infections.

Shes gone into Safe Mode as far as I know, but hasn't reappeared yet on the other side, so either its still going/shes given up and gone to bed/her computer isn't working anymore... haha

Is she running malwarebytes too? It usually catches more than spybot.

I got that after she had already gone into Safe Mode.
I'm betting shes gone to bed to be honest
