Overclocking

Ok I got my rig up and going, ASUS M4A785-M AMD 785G Socket AM3 Motherboard, AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Callisto 3.1GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Processor, cooler master V8 cpu cooler. I wanna start over clocking, never have b4. What do I do to overclock and what is the highest I should go? I am showing in coretemp idle 67 degrees f - 74 degrees f.

Shoot, don't overclock. Unlock the extra 2 cores. That board seems to be the best at doing that.

Then overclock if you need it.

For some reason when I unlock the cores coretemp wont work, It opens but doesnt monitor the cpu correctly. It says 32 degrees f and never changes. I wanna monitor temp.

the cores are better.

Just keep the voltages safe and you'll be fine.

I just unleashed the cores in cmos, I didnt mess with voltages, do I need to change some voltages?

should be fine at stock.

run prime95 to make sure its stable.

Keep the voltage below 1.5 and your temps should be fine. I don't have the cooler, but that is my estimate.
