But my build with Mutant Corn's & wol-va-rine's choices would probably last slightly longer for updates (Slightly slower CPU, but this can be overclocked anyway, but 6GB RAM instead of 4), but I cannot 100% guarantee updates beyond the i7.
Plus if you really didn't want the sound card, and could do with the on board (though I don't recommend that), it'd save you £43 too from my build.

But I have to admit, I prefer Mutant Corn's choice on case. That shape looks pretty amazing

I really appreciate that. I am still unsure on what way to go with this however. Would my choice be dependant on updating the hardware etc or will one choice be better for graphics or compressing videos etc?

Just looking again nothing really has changed apart from more RAM and Motherboard with Sound Blaster. All that for an extra £100 or so? Seems good to me, especially when there is a better chance of the mobo being capable potentially of handling future hardware.

The CPU is 2.66GHZ instead of 2.8GHZ, but its of the 1366 socket, which may be more future proof than the other one that i5 uses, and I doubt you'd notice much difference from the models speed wise.

I want to see hear more opinions first of this, but it seems like the 1366 socket would have more life in it.

Both would be good for video encoding, etc, as the i7 on both counts is one awesome processor.
6GB's instead of 4GB may prove worthy in the future if you are to be encoding a lot.
Your video card may do some of the work also on some new editing suites.

One good thing about the motherboard I listed, is that it supports both Cross Fire & SLI, so if you decided to buy an Nvidia card next, and wanted to pair it up with another one for faster gaming, you could, as well as supporting ATI's version of the same feature.

Cheers mate, so I guess it is all about opinions isn't it? That sounds good too, but will it still perform as well for conversion videos etc? So what do the rest of you think? I am confused, lol.

I reckon at this point I am liking the idea of 'Kage's' build more than the rest purely because of the opportunity to take an upgrade further or potentially at least and that's a big pull for me. I would like the case 'mutant corn' suggested so I think I will go with that too.

Kage - If you find out more about the socket being used in the future for future hardware then that will completely make my mind up.
