Does the 8800 not support HDMI audio?

ATI HD series cards do.

8800GT only supports DVI, at least for mine. I can do DVI to HDMI, but no sound since DVI doesn't carry sound.

That sucks. ATI cards have a special adapter that let the DVI port output audio.

Works well too. I have it on my HTPC.

Yeah, it seems like the 4xxx, 5xxx, and the GTx have a built in audio controller, or at least that's what I got with Google.

Yeah. I think the 3xxx might too' but I'm not sure on that.

Aren't there some 9800s with HDMI though?

EDIT: The card has SPDIF headers that connect to the sound card. Simple.

3xxx has built in sound though. Same with 2xxx so its all the HD series like I had thought.

I wonder about x1xxx cards.... seems that they do too. cool.

Older radeons don't though.

Though, it seems like it might be hard trying to get the connectors to connect.

So i have changed my mind... I'm thinking i might get a small 4WD. Something like a Suzuki Vitara Or a Sierra. Thoughts?

I'm looking on my Mobo user manual, and it doesn't seem like they have that thing to connect to the graphics card.

My mobo does have an SPDIF optical though.

EDIT - Yeah... My mobo nor my 8800GT has the SPDIF. I think I have to connect the video via DVI to HDMI, and audio with toslink via SPDIF optical out.
I don't plan on playing much games with my PC on the TV, especially since the TV will have a higher resolution.

Jeez... What resolution are you using? I thought pretty much everyone here had a 1920x1080.
