If you consider it being an bargain bin item as something wrong, then yes.
I think that's the reason why I can tell a difference.

HDMI and DVI transmit the same digital signal. I doubt you're seeing a better picture with either connection.

I have an expensive HDMI cable (like $75 normally) versus the POS cables that came with my monitors. Could that be why? It isn't a big difference, just barely noticeable. Could be a coincidence. Maybe that one LCD is slightly different than my other two.

the DVI ones are 8 feet and the HDMI is 10 feet.

I got it for $15... conns open box and on sale.
The 8 foot DVI cable wouldn't reach the monitor without putting my computer in a very awkward spot.

Next question is, I have a HDMI cable and the video card comes with a DVI to HDMI adapter, My monitor only has a DVI-D slot in it. Wouldn't it be cheaper for me to just buy another DVI to HDMI adapter and use the HDMI cable? As opposed to buying a new DVI cable?

It should come with a DVI cable.

I have no clue if that'll work because the video card will want to send an HDMI signal, with audio.

Not in this purchase. I'm surprised it comes with the DVI to HDMIadapter.
