That's alright for DDR2. So no red flags there. Have you tested the RAM with only stick in at a time? As well as testing each stick in the different slots?

^^ I have no tested each RAM stick alone, however I did switch them both to the other dual-channel slots. My friend has some DDR2 1066 RAM laying around (in working conditions; he bought the wrong kind...he thought his MOBO was DDR2/DDR3). I'm getting my hands on that, and I'm going to test if they improve my situation. If they do, I'm just going to buy it from him.
