Ya, i agree with foothead. Unless you're doing extreme overclocking, which you're definitely not on that board, I'd go with the Contac or xigmatek. I personally think the V8 is too bulky and I don't prefer aluminum.
I still highly recommend the Zalman. It is big, but the all copper makes for great heat dissipation

V8 should fit in a mid tower. Theres a couple of people around here with them. Lets see how they weigh in. I'm not really the air cooling expert, I'm bigger on water cooling and other excessive cooling methods.

That peltier sucks. Thats why you don't want it. Its worse than a cheap air cooler for high wattage CPU's. It can get subzero on low wattage ones though.

V8 owns the zalman.

Its designed to be a passive cooler.

I'm actually about to do a cooling experiment where I hook it up to a ~2000 CFM AC blower.

IDK how well it'll do though... epic wide spacing on the fins.

I got the zalman at 50 dollars. 4 core CPU at full load and fan at 2000rpm, it keeps the pc at 36 degrees. Idk how much cooler an air cooler can get
