Power saving GPU'S vs. standard GPU'S

Yes, from my understanding. Mine has separate clock speeds for 2d, 3d, and what is called Performance 3d (I guess high load?).

What video card do you have?

I saw people BIOS modding their 5870s so they would overclock only when the GPU is at 85% load or higher, then enabled vsync so that way it would only overclock if needed.

Pretty cool for a standard feature.

GTS250, it's in the specs.

I guess that's how many levels it has, anyhow, because that's how many showed up in RivaTuner.


And that's a pretty good idea, but I don't know how comfortable I would be with it constantly going above and below stock speeds, seems to me that it could cause instability.
