Theres probably a simple answer

K well I used to be an avid computer user. Changing operating systems on a regular basis (switching between linux's and windows)-, used to build pcs on the frontline in the Australian alienware offices, and worked for mac. But. I simply can't work out whats up with my XP. I open recycling bin cause its indicating theres trash with the full rubbish bin icon on the desktop. Its empty. But I know this problem so I just assume I can't empty the bin unless I put something in it but theres still something to empty. So I click it. Then it says "Are you sure you want to delete 'WINDOWS'?" - But I'm displaying all hidden files and folders I've been to check on the root directories of the system for corruptions and I can't find a single mistake. Theres just an empty bin claiming it wants to delete windows that I can't seem to see? Help?

I really don't think it is a virus. It could be possible an error in the registry. Here is quick fix for the registry.

Open up notepad, and paste following into it:

save the file as an "*.reg" file to the desktop and "run" it.

if there's an error, remove the top line which says "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00", but it should work like that.
