Video card Suggestions - Win7 & PCI -

Looking for some suggestions for a good compatible PCI video card for a older Dell 2400 Dimension desktop..... 2gb ram, running Win7. Had some intermittent freeze issues (Display driver stopped) with a Nvida PNY GeForce 8400GS. Is there a better driver then the factory win update drivers?

Problem is...you won't be able to get the best out of it, since the PCI interface bottlenecks it. I'd consider a new board if you case supports 3rd party board, or a new machine after that.


As for the drivers, try downloading updated drivers at www.nvidia.com, to see if that fixes it.

Looks good, ati always works great.... Anything better for hd or is that going to be the most stable option? Looking mainly for stability.. not much gaming going on...

It's fairly unusual for one to NOT be stable...

It doesn't get too much better than that for PCI cards. The PCI interface is pretty restricting.

Stability isn't a factor, bu tht eperformance is. It's already bottlenecked with performance under that.
