I am building my own computer I am just wondering how much difference i Will Notice over what I currently have. I have an older EmachinesT3422 to be exaxct with 2 gigs of ram and a raedon 4700 pro video card. I am getting the EVGA X58 SLI LE Motherboard, the intel core i7 860 processor, the Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 1GB GDDR5 Video Card, and 6 gigs of ram. Am I going to notice alot of difference while playing games or will it be not real noticible? I currenty am playing modern warfare 2 and it runs smooth and seems good, thats why I ask if I will see alot of difference or should I save money and not build such a powerful system? Thanks!

Whoa there....the X58 platform uses socket 1366. The i7 you want is the 920. The 860 goes in socket 1156.

You will see a huge improvement, though.

What are the rest of your parts? You're going to need a good PSU for this. Ask here before you buy one so we can make sure it's good. You really don't want a crappy one for a rig like that.

Also, make sure the RAM you get is DDR3. That chipset doesn't support the older DDR2.

I've never heard of xion and you do not need 1000 watts for that, i would go with something a bit lower to save some money and a more reliable brand

That isn't a good PSU at all. Really high wattage and really low price is never a good sign.

The hard drive is one of the 7200.11 models, which had a lot of problems. For Seagate, make sure it's 7200.12. Samsung's "Spinpoint F3" models and Western Digital's "Caviar Black" models are also good.

What RAM are you looking at? X58 boards are picky about what they use.

Here's what I'd get in the core system. Cheapest parts for the quality:

PSU- Thermaltake Toughpower XT W0229RU 750W (modular, single rail, 60A +12V)
$105 after rebate
