where to start...

Unless you are willing to overclock, a phenom x4 will outperform an athlon II x4.

What is your budget for these parts?

The 9800 GT isn't really high-spec, more mid-low range as far as gaming cards go. You will probably see yourself upgrading in the near future. I recommend the HD 4850 x2 for a high-end card that is cheap.

Yes, the Phenom would be the way to go for multitasking.

You will be much happier with the 4850 than the 9800GT. It will last longer so you can save more money for any upgrades in the future.

dont really have a budget, just buying the stuff as i can afford it.

so the phenom would be the way to go for multitasking?

and, HD 4850 for graphics is good?

what about Nvidia 9800GT?

For multitasking, probably. For gaming use, it seems I had botched benchmarks (my fault) and the athlon is better.

4850 is better than a 9800. Also look for a 4870 or 5750.
Basically, 4870>5750>4850
5750 has Dx11 and eyefinity support however, and it scales much better in crossfire.
