Im going to be building my computer. I am going to use tuniq thermal paste on my CPU ( i7 920). do i need to use the thermal grease on the xigmatek that comes with the heatsink? Or should I just use the one layer on the processor? Or both the heatsink and processor layer the tuniq thermal paste on?

Only use one paste, not both.

And apply a small amount to the CPU. It will spread evenly as you apply the heatsink.

I think someone on here got better results by putting either a line across the CPU or on each heatpipe on the HDT coolers, I cant' remember who though.

I have a Dark Knight and this is the method I used. (two small lines in between the actual heat pipes, and fill the cracks between the pipes)

Link to benchmark reviews article

It shows different methods of applying it to HDT coolers and how well it spreads over the entire surface area.
