Cannot Play HD mkv files

Hello forumers,

I have a problem playing the HD mkv files on my computer. I have installed mplayer, CCCR, Classic media player, PowerDVD and still my mkv lags. At some point it didn't i remember, but then it started to lag up until now.

I am also thinking of getting an HD monitor and would love it play correctly.

i use windows media player to play my mvk files from my camcorder but i have the latest one on windows 7....
my sony camcorder also gave me a media player id be happy to send u a download link,
i also highly recommend updating to windows 7 from xp its such a great os ;]

theres a built in player that should work great just install it and it will be in the start menu

Really? I used VLC for my 720p MKV files. I guess I've never had to use 1080p though...since my TVs aren't 1080p.

vlc works for 1080 p i use it all the time

idk why but on mine its laggy and i get lines
and my computer is more then well equipped to play these files

you dont have alot of ram

and your video card probably cant handle it.
