They're doing what they've always done. They wait until ATi gets out their biggest baddest card for the semester/year and then they try to ice the cake. It's a nice tactic but it keeps everyone waiting. I know they have the technology for DX11 and we already know they have a contract with /someone/ for GDDR5 chips. And I'm pretty sure the "Fermi" core has had ample time to be developed and tested.
