I cant connect Windows 7 to Windows XP? Some help Please?

I'm trying to connect the two computers via the router, i need to be able to access files from that computer.

I can access the windows 7 computer from XP, the other way around it ask's for a username and password.

I'm assume all would need to do is disable the username/password request on the XP machine..

Any ideas?

You have to set up file sharing because the HomeGroup is not backwards compatible from Win 7 to XP. Take a look at the link below. It provides some pretty descent screen shots as well.

Thanks, i figured it out! I didnt run network setup on the XP machine.

Its working now... thanks for the guide again that helped somewhat.
