hey all,

i'm planning on upgrading my PC with new HDD and New GPU but this means i'll have to reinstall windows 7 home premium OEM again.

My Question is, can i reactivate Win7 with my new hardware or do i have to buy another licence?

Any help would be much appreciated. :)

Also my freind wants to know if he can do this too. but his is a retail copy.

yes, you can reactivate,
no you don't need to buy again. (you're upgrading not remaking)
yes your friend can take his retail version wherever he wants. -there is only the one machine at one time restriction on retail licenses.

Hmm. I wonder if my post didn't post. I know I replied to this earlier...

But yes, root is correct. OEM versions are tied to the motherboard (sometimes even a no MB won't pose a problem on reactivation, though!), and you aren't changing that, so you'll be just fine!
