explorer.exe not staring in Vista 32-bit

Okay, so when I boot up my Windows Vista Home premium machine, after login, I get a black screen with a curser. I can start task Manager, but I have to manually open explorer.exe within Task manager! Can anyone help me as to make explorer.exe open by itself?
