Good deal on MacBook pro?

My moms friend is selling his 17" MacBook pro mid 2008 with the following specs

2.5 ghz core 2 duo processor
3gb of ddr2 memory
650gb hdd
8600m gt 512 mb gpu

it is in flawless condition and he wants $1100 for it? Should I bite?
