Please help me, people! (ubuntu & CPU - will they work?)

Linux is just an OS that anyone can use. That CPU ill be fine, just make sure your other computer parts don't bottle neck your system, so that way your computer will be fine with any OS.

It will work with any intel or AMD CPU, pretty much, and yours is fast enough. It's compatible with pretty much any modern motherboard.
 
np and the 245 is a great cpu i have the 250 it overclocks wonderfull with a aftermarket HSf
