So? mATX MBs fit in all ATX cases. mATX is smaller than ATX. There might be a few exceptions, but I've never seen an ATX case that doesn't have the mounting holes for an mATX MB. I mean, getting an mATX would be kind of backwards if you ask me...especially if he wants to upgrade and get an ATX MB down the road.

This. (notice what's listed under "motherboard compatibility")

Now, you do have a valid claim (as I said there are always exceptions), but the ones that don't LIST support for mATX are the no-name I'd-never-buy-this-unless-I-had-absolutely-no-money-or-knowledge cases (the Linkworld ones)

Stock as in like from a manufacturer? i.e. HP, Dell, etc? Most of those types of towers ONLY support mATX and NOT ATX. Therefore, they cause problems when you want to upgrade to a MB that's ATX, as the case is not big enough to support it. It's been a while since I've worked with a manufacturer case that had an ATX MB installed, so I can't speak as to whether it supported mATX (the size isn't the problem, it's just whether or not the holes are there I believe).
